Sept 1st Nice sunny morning-
B-26 P47 Giving Brest hell.
From the battalion history: 1-4 September: No major developments. B-17s and P47s bomb the great port day after day, starting large fires, smoke from which often hampers observation. Germans using Red Cross liberally on installations, and boats flying Red Cross go back and forth across the bay from Brest to Crozon Peninsula hour after hour, day and night. It is believed boats so marked are being used for observation.
