June 27th Journal Entry



June 27th Rest of Battery came down (At H. W. also). Just the Enlisted Men under 85 points. Good to get away from C. S. in 285th.

No drill, no cutting grass, no carrying carbines, whole town on limits.

Marilu: Not sure who or what C.S. is, but it seems the duties are relaxing and none of the nearby town is off limits to visits from the GIs, where before they were strictly limited to the main street and so on.

Dearest mom & all, Got your letter of Sept. 3 a few days ago but have been so darn busy that I haven't had time to touch correspondence.
