Lu Dearest,
Honey, I hope you don't receive this letter in Germany, honestly I do. I believe it takes about 2 weeks or 10 days for my main to reach you and 2 weeks from tonight I want to be safely snuggled in your arms for a perfectly heavenly night.
No mail again today, so I hope it means your really on your way home. I'm not having any luck apartment hunting, but I guess we can manage until we do find something. I'm still hoping to get one before you come home, though.
We've been putting up fruit and I've been trying to do a little sewing for Lynne. Made her a simple pair of sleepers. Honestly honey, I've lost all ambition to do anything but wait for you to come. I have to make myself go to work, but it's a good thing I can go cause it helps the time go so much quicker. Other girls there are waiting anxiously to hear from their husbands too.
We're having a bit of excitement here tonight, a nice storm and the big things at the Power Plant keep blowing up and they put on quite a display of fireworks. Too close for comfort though.
According to the news you should be home before Oct. 1 cause they're lowering the points to 70 then and to 60 on Nov. 1 So if you're not home I think I'll go to the President and find out why they're being so slow.
I feel like a slacker when I don't write but I'm so sure you're already on your way home that there's really not much sense in writing much.
Lynne is such a treasure darling, she knows her Daddy's picture and she misses having one so much. She'll probably want to monopolize your time too, cause she's missed out on an awfully lot.
I love you darling far more than I can say. Just hurry home so I can show you.
All my love
Leona & Lynne
