Sweetheart,
Two more letters today, Sept 3 and 10. Gee darling, I'm glad you do tell me when you get excited and let down, cause even though my heart leaps and sinks with the news, I'd go absolutely mad if you didn't write and I had no inkling of what's going on.
I'm just hoping that they don't forget you there. Jane (one of the girls) said her husband, who is in France told her that all the men with 65 points would be home by Oct. 15, and a friend of Camilla's boy friend said he would be here Oct. 6. He's in the 7th army. Wish they'd let you know something definite and then start some action. If they don't. I will! You'll just have to come home and teach your daughter a few things. Every time Mother scolds Myrle or anyone, Lynne scolds back. We were all talking back and forth at the table and Lynne chimes in and tells us all where to head in at. All her jabbering with such a positive tone sounds as though she thinks she knows what she's talking about.
Daddy got home today and Lynne was sure glad to see him. She has just showed off for him all day.
Mother put up a bushel of peaches today and we put up some pears tonight. So we'll have some fruit anyway. We can tomatoes on Saturday as we'll have some those too. Golly, theres so much I want to do, but I just don't have the money to do it.
Darling, if they'll give you a furlough first by all means take it. I couldn't stant to have you so close and not be able to be with you, besides as you say we can have our honeymoon, and it will give us time to do a little planning before our income stops.
Regardless of how darling, just get here as fast as you can. I need you and love you so.
Your sweethearts,
Leona and Lynne.
